After seeing Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe bear his soul (and everything else) earlier this year in the London stage production of Equus, many theater-goers probably wondered what the next step would be for the talented teen.

Radcliffe may have given a glimpse into his future plans during a recent New York press junket for the upcoming film, December Boys.

When a journalist asked the teen thespian If he has considered playing a gay character “from the aspect of being an actor, Radcliffe responded:

"Id never play a gay character just for the sake of playing a gay character. If the script was good, and it was a good gay character then, Im 18, and so the parts Im going to be getting will be open for around that age range. And around that age range is when people are exploring sexuality, so those are the parts I think…

He's helped make the mega-budgeted Harry Potter movies the highest-grossing franchise in history. But two years ago, Daniel Radcliffe took a stab at shaking up his screen image by accepting a role in a teeny-tiny Australian indie movie, December Boys (which just opened in New York and L.A.).

Actor Daniel Radcliffe hopes to debut on Broadway next year in a reprisal of his London role in "Equus," a performance where he shed not only his clothes but also the mantle of Harry Potter.

"December Boys" marks Daniel Radcliffe’s first leading movie role outside of the "Harry Potter" series, but a tentative Broadway appearance may prove far more revealing.

Radcliffe, 18, is hoping to reprise his critically acclaimed role in "Equus" on Broadway next year. "I would be very nervous because I think that (U.S. audiences are) even more discerning than in London," he recently told Reuters

Sunday night's premiere at the Rivoli saw several children plucked from behind the barriers to avoid being crushed.

"It was kind of mad, much bigger than anybody, particularly security, expected, to the point where there were cinema staff doing a valiant job of actually going out there and holding the barriers," Radcliffe said yesterday.

"That's the thing you always have to be aware of when you're signing and things -- it can get really dangerous but I wasn't aware of it last night."

This weekend, Daniel Radcliffe continued his publicity tour for his newest film December Boys by visiting Australia. Dan appeared on various television shows from the premieres in Melbourne and Sydney. Pictures from both events are now online.

Actor Dan Radcliffe is the subject of a new interview from Collider.com, where he gives some of his opinions on the final book in author J. K. Rowling’s series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. In this segment of a soon to be released complete interview, Mr. Radcliffe discusses his growing up with the character of Harry Potter and of his experience of reading the final book, saying in part:

Q: Can you talk about where you were reading the book and what you were experiencing as you were reading it?

Daniel: Totally. There’s a quote, I’m not going to take this interview down too pretentious a route though this next bit but there’s a quote from Chekhov when he wrote to the woman who was the final love of his life, who he later married and I think died with, not that she died but…

In an interview with MTV from today, Daniel Radcliffe talks about the rumors about when his play Equus would be arriving on the Broadway stage in 2008 and states that:

There's an internet frenzy of people who think it's happening in the spring, but it would be six months later than that. In all probability, if everything goes according to plan, it would definitely be me and Richard Griffiths and how many other cast members the unions will allow.

Daniel also comments on his various love/sex scenes to date in a video snippet.

Earlier today, Daniel Radcliffe made an appearance on NBC's TODAY show. In this interview, Dan discusses his new movie December Boys and that filming for Half-Blood Prince will begin in "two weeks time."
