A Mannsville teen was one of several people injured in a mosh pit at a State Fair concert last night. Officials estimate 30 to 40 people were injured during the Projekt Revolution concert at the State Fair Grandstand. The concert featured Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday. According to reports, a group from the audience was in a mosh pit during the My Chemical Romance concert, when emergency responders were called to a “Level 2 Mass Causality Incident,” which they say is standard when there were this many injuries. They say some people have head injuries, some concussions, and some people were unconscious. 13-year-old Stephennie Nichols, of Mannsville, said from her infirmary bed that people were "crowd surfing," and "this big guy kicked me in |

Projekt a study in sonic spectacle

By Chris Faraone There’s no better time to show off new tattoos and get your cleavage signed than the last Friday before school re-opens.
Luckily, Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and assorted emo heroes were at the Tweeter Center in Mansfield on Friday to facilitate such critical end-of-summer rituals at this stop on their Projekt Revolution tour.
The motorcade rolled in early, with rising groups Madina Lake, The Bled and Mindless Self Indulgence cranking on the smaller “Revolution Village” stage.
New York’s Taking Back Sunday earned its spot as Projekt Revolution’s most unique spectacle. Front man Adam Lazzara is so psychologically sideways that he can touch the emotionally disturbed demographic without jacking standard noise pop formulas and wearing makeup. Judging by the number of kids wearing its T-shirts, My Chemical |

ALL-DAY FEST PASSES THE TEXT

By DAN AQUILANTE revolution at the daylong Projekt Revo lution concert at Jones Beach certainly wasn't musical. The headlining trio - Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday - all put on stock yet fan-pleasing sets that capped Wednesday's 11-hour, 10-act music marathon. Instead, it was more of an electronic revolution. Between each performance, while roadies scurried about flipping amps and changing sets, the 'tween crowd kept itself busy by text-messaging notes to the giant video screens. "Clap if you love MCR" would flash across the screen, and the house would erupt in applause for My Chemical Romance. "Look Up!" and chins would point toward the clouds on command. Messages like "I wanna marry the girl sitting next to me" elicited romantic ooohs, while a "Chuck Norris counted to infinity, twice" drew huge cheers. The flashing |

Linkin Park put together a 'wish list' of rock and rap acts for the Projekt Revolution lineup.
For the first time in three years, Linkin Park's Projekt Revolution is back. The tour, which attempts to bring together acts from different genres, was started by the metal-rockers in 2001, and they have been headlining it ever since. Other bands headlining this year's tour will be My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday on the main stage, along with Julien-K, Him and Placebo. Playing on a second stage are Mindless Self Indulgence, Saosin, The Bled, Styles Of Beyond and Madina Lake. To decide on the lineup Linkin Park created a "wish list" of bands they would like to see on the tour, said frontman Chester Bennington in a teleconference with national |

Projekt Revolution: less rap, more rock

Web Posted: 08/01/2007 04:47 PM CDT Hector Saldaña As the Seattle Times so aptly noted, this year's Projekt Revolution isn't so much a political rally. It's a party. Make that an all-day party with gates opening at noon today at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. On the main stage of this popular annual package show, it's Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, H.I.M., Placebo and Julien-K. Second-tier acts are Mindless Self Indulgence, Saosin, The Bled, Styles of Beyond and Madina Lake. Touted as "green," and with the acts handpicked by the Grammy-winning platinum headliners Linkin Park, this time out Projekt Revolution's rap-rock vibe has changed. It's all about the rock. During a media conference call in June, Linkin Park's frontman Chester Bennington called the selection of acts "a no-brainer." ""I personally felt like (past tours) kind of went into a lull in some |

MEDIANEWS STAFF Article Launched: 07/30/2007 10:23:23 AM PDTProjekt Revolution was the biggest all-day festival of Shoreline Amphitheatre's summer season. The 10-hour show, which took place on Sunday at the Mountain View venue, featured two acts that can each headline arenas and amphitheaters and one that appears destined to reach that level. Respectively, those bands were Linkin Park, My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday. In comparison, Shoreline's other rock festivals _ Live 105's BFD, the Warped Tour and Ozzfest _ combined to offer just one arena-caliber headliner, Ozzfest's Ozzy Osbourne. What they lacked in big names, they had to make up for with bountiful lineups. Given the bill, it's easy to understand why such a huge crowd _ more than 16,000 fans _ turned out to party at Projekt Revolution. The tour's origins stretch back to 2002, when Linkin Park decided to organize a trek with Cypress |
