ABERDEEN, Wash. -- A concert with seven bands is scheduled next month to raise money for a memorial to Kurt Cobain who grew up in Aberdeen.

Proceeds from the "Lounge Acts 2007" concert on September 15th at a Hoquiam theater will help build the Kurt Cobain Memorial Park in Aberdeen.

The Nirvana singer who committed suicide in Seattle in 1994 would now be 40 years old.

Candlebox, who disbanded in 1999, released "The Best of Candlebox" disc last year and are now on tour.

 

When Candlebox decided to come out of retirement last year, the Seattle band was surprised not only by the size of its audiences but by the fans themselves.

Candlebox knew its core demographic would be 25- to 40-year-olds looking to reminisce about grunge-era radio of the early '90s.
